A single push-button switch turns the Byte on and off and cycles through two levels of white light and a red glow that helps preserve your night-acclimated vision. This efficient unit achieves surprisingly long runtimes on two AAA batteries: 3 hours on white light high power, 80 hours on white low, and 100 hours on red. There's a lockout option to make sure you don't accidentally turn the light on in transit. The Byte comes with an adjustable elastic headband and weighs just 65 grams.
